Sfakaki

The settlement Sfakaki is 11 km east from Rethymnon along the sea side, closed to the sandy beach of Stavromenos, which is an important nesting site for the sea turtles Caretta caretta. 
Sfakaki is a good location to visit the villages of the region above the coast, the monastery of Arkadi, the pottery village Margarites, the towns Rethymnon, Chania and Heraklion or to make daytrips to the south coast.
