Xerokampos

Xerokambos is located in an untouched region on the east coast of Crete. Mountains, olive groves and magnificent isolated beaches make up the breathtaking scenery. Xerokambos boasts probably the finest beaches in the area and is ideal for those seeking peace, quiet and relaxation. There is a small temporary lagoon (dry from the end of May). Public transport stops in Zakros, therefore anyone wanting to explore the area would need to hire a car. There are two roads to go to Xerocambos. The road from Zakros to Xerokambos is since 2008 almost all asphalt (9 km). The road from Iraklion via Agios Nikolaos, Ierapetra, Makri Gialos to Handras and Ziros plateau is the best way to reach Xerokampos. There is a small temporary lagoon (dry from the end of May).
