This unique settlement of ecotourism is set in the hillside of a little valley at approx. 500 m altitude, 22 km south of Kastelli/Kissamos and is surrounded by 120 hectares of land, full of various species of trees and protected flora. The 13 beautiful restored stone houses/rooms offers the impression of the past with original, carefully selected furniture and open fire places or woodstoves for heating, further a small terrace or sitting place outside. The comforts are basic, each room has an own bath room and hot water. Electricity is provided by solar energy, so in the evening the visitors enjoy their delicious prepared dinner in the taverna with candle light. Milia is a place, where it is possible to let back everything and dive into an atmosphere of silence, peace and harmony with nature. Even to reach this place is already a very impressive drive through small villages and the last 2 km on a dirt road, there is no need for a four wheel drive.
The philosophy of the Milia team is to preserve the natural life cycle in a way that is friendly towards human being and environment, and also to work according to Cretan traditions and history.
